Born in Asuncion, Paraguay and raised outside of Washington DC, Janina Anderson is an interdisciplinary artist whose work has been shown in group and solo exhibitions locally and abroad. Using mixed media and collage as a way to think, play, and experiment, Anderson explores visual language and culture; how we read it, how we use it, and the context and conventions that dictate how we interact with and understand it. Anderson studied studio art and art history at the Maryland Institute College of Art and the University of Oregon before beginning her MFA studies in Fibres and Material Practices at Concordia University.
