In the purely technical sense \, it’s an experimental compassion-based standup comedy show\, but just laying it out like that leaves a weird taste in my mouth. It’s a lot of things. Basically: it’s me. It’s me showing you around the inside of my head and my heart and inviting you to do the same. They tell me nothing like it has ever been put on. Thank you for reading. I love you. \n -Tomās Murphy.

SUMMARY:MTL SKETCHFEST: OPENING NIGHT WITH LEGITNESS (MONTREAL)\, TONY MCINTYRE (MONTREAL)\, A.C. BIRCH (TORONTO)\, & HOT METAL PLAYGROUND (TRAVERSE CITY\, MI)
DESCRIPTION:LEGITNESS (MONTREAL) \nLegitness is a Montreal based comedy duo that will keep you guessing if they’re dating\, siblings\, or just really awkward roommates. They’ve smooshed together Brooklyn Melnyk\, an actor and long time award winning sketch comedian from troupes such as Tongues\, Side Salad and Don’t Not Talk to Strangers with accomplished actor Noah Labranche. Labranche has appeared in 6 movies\, 2 upcoming video games\, and 3 episodes of Heated Rivalry (for realzies). Together they have performed in several local shows and festivals. Along with their “professional acting training™” they bring lots of commitment\, big characters\, and incredibly stupid jokes all wrapped up in a charming sketch comedy package. They will be tackling heavy hitting issues like business lingo and why it’s impossible to buy anything full price at the Gap all with a heavy dose of absurdist realism. As they like to ask each other when they write “is this funny\, or just stupid?” They’ll never tell 😉 Come down to the show to find out 😉 😉 \nTONY MCINTYRE (MONTREAL) \nTony McIntyre is bringing his many clown personas to Montreal Sketchfest as they compete to be the best of the best\, whatever that means. They will look to wow the audience and ensure they are doing the best they can as they compete for a supposed gold medal or maybe it is just a gold star sticker given by the audience. Tony has a background in clown\, improv\, and stand up. As a clown he has focused on modern clowning that is inspired by the clowning scene in LA and idiot work clowns. He performed his debut clown show\, Mouse Trap!\, at the 2025 Montreal Fringe Festival where it was meant with highly positive reviews. He has been bridging the gap between clown and Standup introducing new character and stories to the world of his standup. As a standup he has performed at the ComediHa 2024 festival and Just for Laughs 2025 Festival. \nA.C. BIRCH (TORONTO) \nA.C. Birch is a comedian\, writer\, and filmmaker based in Toronto. His feature documentary\, “A Queer’s Guide to Spiritual Living”\, premiered at Inside Out in 2023\, and in 2024 he produced a staged reading of his original romcom “Gay Bridgerton” at The Second City Theatre ’73\, featuring a cast of some of Toronto’s most beloved trans and queer comics. His awards include “Best Newcomer” at Sketch To The Death 2025\, “Best Writing – Category Romance” by IndieX Film Fest\, and “Most Improved – Category Hotness” by friends who knew him in high school. \nHOT METAL PLAYGROUND (TRAVERSE CITY\, MI) \nHot Metal Playground is the comedy duo of sisters Kali and Janée Marie Meadows. They grew up on whole milk\, sketch comedy\, and a relentless DIY spirit\, filming camcorder sketches and building worlds from whatever was lying around. \nTheir voice is fearless\, weird\, and rooted in unforgettable personalities shaped by a lifetime of creative mischief and that uncanny\, unspoken shorthand only sisters from Northern Michigan who like milk share. Their sketches feature bold\, memorable characters that feel larger than life\, and sometimes just a little too real.\n \n Tickets

SUMMARY:MTL SKETCHFEST WITH FUNNY\, I'M HOME! (MONTREAL)\, KATIE LEGGITT (MONTREAL) & CAM WYLLIE (TORONTO)
DESCRIPTION:FUNNY\, I’M HOME! (MONTREAL) \nFunny\, I’m Home is a new emerging Montreal based sketch/improv comedy group. Having started in January 2025\, our group has since had a total of eleven headlining shows at the Concordia student bar Reggie’s. Blending the practices of theatre with our love for comedy Funny\, I’m Home continues to perform for a large audience and have even found themselves venturing to Sketchfest and Sketchville with TSC and Indie Night with Montreal Improv. Funny\, I’m Home is super excited to be back and kicking and will find themselves at the 2026 Montreal Fringe Festival this summer! \nKATIE LEGGITT (MONTREAL) \nA veteran of the Montreal comedy scene and a powerhouse in character comedy\, Katie performed with Le Nouveau International for over a decade\, building community in her home away from home: Théâtre Sainte-Catherine. \nPrior to relocating to Toronto in 2015\, she co-founded Ladyfest Montreal and produced a number of live shows and music reviews including a Women of Classic Country night where she discovered her terrible allergy to hay. \nShe’s appeared on-stage in the Montreal\, Toronto and New York City Sketch Festivals\, Just For Laughs & Off-JFL and is thrilled to be living back in her hometown doing a character retrospective for the greatest festival on Earth. \nCAM WYLLIE (TORONTO) \nCam Wyllie is Canada’s beloved Sketch Comedy Maniac\, with 3 Canadian Comedy Award Nominations\, Festival Appearances all over North America\, and a bunch of Comedy Awards* with made up sounding names. \nHe’s coming in hot with a carefully curated selection of brave\, tragic\, and gleefully dumb characters who\, like him\, are just trying to do their best. Armed with a passable singing voice\, a can do attitude\, and the odd tinfoil prop\, he’ll give you plenty of reasons to laugh\, cheer\, and get invested. Open your heart to the hilarious\, often surreal\, and always unpredictable world of Cam Wyllie. \n* Cam Wyllie has won Best of Fest honours at both the Toronto and Denver Sketch Comedy Festivals\, and is one of only two acts to have been awarded the $10\,000 grand prize at the Cam Wyllie Sketch Comedy Invitational.\n \n Tickets

SUMMARY:MTL SKETCHFEST WITH LAURA BUCHANAN (MONTREAL)\, ABBY LONG (MONTREAL)\, SARAH CONWAY (TORONTO)\, & SMALL FISH (OTTAWA)
DESCRIPTION:LAURA BUCHANAN (MONTREAL) \nLaura Buchanan is a multipissanary artiss who has performed in many places on many occasions. Most notably\, she was seen performing at Lions Gate Hospital\, starring in the showcase “Being Born”\, in the year 1817. Other festivals include Just For Laughs\, OFF-JFL\, Montreal Sketchfest\, Big City Improv\, Big Pond\, and Vancouver International Improv Festival. \nABBY LONG (AND SO DO YOU) (MONTREAL) \nHere to remind you that you belong\, Abby’s been gracing the stage since 2018 with the “I belong and so do you” vibe. A chaotic ND mix of fun and dramatic\, she has been affectionately labeled by friends as an “actual factual real life Disney princess” through vibes tho there is no official affiliation (she’s too quirky anyways). \nSARAH CONWAY (TORONTO) \nSarah Conway is a Toronto-based comedian\, actor\, and writer with roots in Vancouver and St. John’s. She is heavily inspired by DIY and alternative comedy\, with influences ranging from CODCO to Conner O’Malley. She strives to make comedy shows that feel like punk shows\, full of abandon. Her work is raw\, earnest\, and deeply silly. She finds inspiration in both her own experiences and the dumbest stuff she can think up. \nFrom burlesque to live music to characters grounded and absurd\, Sarah brings mischief and delight to the stage in a sort of live-theatre appetizer platter. SUMMARY:MTL SKETCHFEST WITH CARMINA BERBARI DAOU (MONTREAL)\, ISAAC KESSLER (MONTREAL)\, BURNT TOAST (NYC)\, & ANDERS YATES (TORONTO)
DESCRIPTION:ANDERS YATES (TORONTO) \nAnders Yates is a solo sketch comedian originally from Montreal who now lives in Toronto but simply can’t stop coming back to Montreal every single chance he can get. Winner of the Montreal Sketchfest’s Best of the Fest Award\, Anders has been hailed as “One of Toronto’s very best comedy performers\, […] Yates is as surefire as it comes!” (My Entertainment World). His comedy career stretches all the way back to the early 2000s as a co-founder of the legendary improv and sketch comedy troupe Uncalled For\, and later as an original member of the wildly successful comedy/dance troupe Dance Animal. Anders has since been a cast member in the Second City’s National Touring Company and was a frequent contributor to the satirical newspaper The Beaverton. His performance in the horror/comedy short Bath Bomb garnered numerous award nominations across the festival circuit\, and he can (briefly) be seen in Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein. This year\, Anders brings a collection of his favourite sketches from across his catalogue\, a mix of old and new. He promises that no matter what\, the show will be very stupid and very gay. \nCARMINA BERBARI DAOU (MONTREAL) \nCarmina Berbari Daou (she/her) is a Lebanese comedian based in Montreal and Toronto. She co-founded @montreal.indie.comedy (former home of Cult Mtl’s #1 comedy show The Poly Mic) and joined the @ladyfestmtl production team this fall for their 10th anniversary. \nCarmina is known for being “your favourite comedian’s favourite comedian” (literally\, ask them)\, her love of producing Late Night inspired shows and most importantly being Gen-Z. She’s deadpan\, she’s pansexual and she’s horrible at puns (not a punsexual) but somehow came 2nd place at New York Comedy Fest’s pun competition. \nYou’ve seen her at Just for Laughs\, New York Comedy Fest\, Vermont Comedy Fest\, Haha Harvest\, Montreal Sketchfest\, Montreal Fringe\, Montreal Commicon\, Winterlewd\, Hysterire\, Minifest and The Gong Show. \nISAAC KESSLER (MONTREAL) \nLe Petit Juif: An Isaac Kessler W.I.P. \nMy father once told me that Life is but a walking shadow and/or a Work In Progress. \nI took this to heart; and so\, mon ami\, I invite you to join me as I strut and fret my 10 minutes upon the stage until I am heard no more – or until the host comes back out. \nI will regale you with tales told by an idiot\, full of sound (effects) and fury\, and probably also try out some bouffon bits. \nAs the Bard once said: “Watch me W.I.P. Now watch me. Nay\, nay!” \nIsaac Kessler has been “in” comedy for 20 years. He’s a 4-time Canadian Comedy Award nominee\, and one half of the award-winning 2-MAN NO-SHOW alongside Ken Hall. He directed five award-winning Clown/Bouffon shows. His solo show 1-MAN NO-SHOW\, directed by Gordon Neill\, has won awards too: Artists’ Pick – Edmonton Fringe / Artists’ Encore – Cincinnati Fringe / Best of Fest & Best Specialty Solo Show – 2025 Orlando Fringe. \nCheck out 1-MAN NO-SHOW at this year’s Montreal Fringe Festival at Petit Campus! \n“You can’t make Art without #awards.” – Oscar Wilde \nBURNT TOAST (NYC) \nBurnt Toast Sketch Show is a high-octane\, fourth-wall breaking\, absurdist take on sketch comedy\, specializing in high-energy scenes that commit to the bit. We’re talking props\, we’re talking sound effects\, we’re talking fake blood capsules and covering a woman in actual grocery-store sushi. And we ALWAYS have a musical number. Our act tends to hit you hard and fast\, so our hour-long shows usually have between 20-30 sketches in them (but we’ve done nearly 40). That’s damn near a sketch a minute! We also like to get the audience in on the fun by having them read the title of each sketch out loud. Sometimes\, the titles are the best part! Behind the scenes\, we start our writing process by doing improv\, and then we take the best\, weirdest\, most out-of-the-box ideas from our jams and refine them until they are fully-written sketches. We do topical\, we do timeless\, we do clownish nonsense — we do it all! \n \n Tickets

SUMMARY:MONTREAL SKETCHFEST AVEC SOIRÉE FRANCO avec JOE ET JEAN-PAT\, ÉDITION SPÉCIALE\, SUDISTES HUMORISTES\, et JEANNE ET JEANNINE

SUMMARY:MONTREAL SKETCHFEST WITH PUN INTENDED! (MONTREAL)\, CHEAP WINE (TORONTO)\, & THE UNDERSTUDIES (TORONTO)
DESCRIPTION:PUN INTENDED! (MONTREAL) \nPun Intended! is a Montreal sketch troupe featuring Christian\, Gaël\, Thomas\, Mahsa\, and Andrea\, five performers with various backgrounds in sketch comedy\, stand up\, music\, improv\, clown\, theatre and dance. \nThough they have crossed paths in various shows and creative projects around the city\, this marks the first time they have joined forces as a dedicated troupe. Pun Intended! brings together their different styles and strengths to create fast paced\, playful comedy that highlights each performer’s voice. \nExpect clever wordplay\, musical bits\, bold characters\, and the occasional burst of physical comedy. With sharp writing and high energy performances\, the troupe brings together artists with various backgrounds to create bold\, collaborative comedy. \nBecause when five comedic collaborators walk into a sketch show\, the result is exactly what the name promises: Pun Intended! \nCHEAP WINE (TORONTO) \nCheap Wine has been described as: “the perfect blend of deadpan and whackadoodle”\, “successfully unique”\, “joyfully absurdist”\, “raunchy and fun”\, “so fully alienating that I dissociated”. This show is about doctors. \nCheap Wine is family. For real. As in\, two of them lived together as children and two of them live together now as life partners and they’ve all known each other since before they could (legally) buy their own cheap wine. That’s sweet and wholesome\, also kind of weird! \nThey won the Audience Choice Award at Toronto Sketchfest 2025\, sold out their wine-tasting comedy show ‘Is It Juice?’ and were voted the 2023 Toronto Sketchfest ‘Sketchiest Sketch Troupe’. They’ve performed in festivals and shows throughout Toronto and across North America together\, including most recently at Second City Toronto and Toronto Fringe Festival\, and they’ve created award-winning film sketches along the way. This is their 4th Montreal Sketchfest (????????????)\, and they are so honoured and excited to be here. \nThey have a website that is www.cheapwine.cheap (yes\, really) an Instagram that is @itscheapwine. \nTHE UNDERSTUDIES (TORONTO) \nThe Understudies are a seasoned Toronto-based sketch troupe featuring Rob Knox\, Meg MacKeigan and Justin Skinner. \nTogether\, they perform fast-paced\, polished sketches with characters and scenarios that turn common tropes upside down\, peppering familiar scenes with stupidity\, strangeness\, and occasionally existential darkness. Beyond standard sketch comedy\, the Understudies add music\, messiness and straight-up madness\, though each scene somehow remains grounded and coherent. Expect unexpected twists and turns! Just come along for the ride! They promise it’ll be fun! \nActive from 2000 to 2010\, the Understudies retired and then resurfaced in 2022 and have since played in the past four Toronto Sketch Comedy Festivals\, winning the Producer’s Pick award in 2025. They also founded the TOSF’s Understudies Memorial Sketchiest Sketch Troupe Award in 2011. \nThey also made the finals of the 2025 Sketch to the Death competition and have performed throughout their sketch careers at Just for Laughs Toronto\, the Cream of Comedy\, and the We’re Funny That Way Festival\, among countless other shows.\n \n Tickets

DESCRIPTION:PORTMANTEAU (MONTREAL) \nImagine the two most annoying people you can think of…no no\, even more annoying. Now\, put them on stage for 20 minutes. Pat and Alex (Palex) have been friends and collaborators for years\, and are finally coming together to maximize their joint slay on the Theatre Ste Catherine stage. There will be yelling. There will be dancing. There will be crying (unrelated to the show). There will be a sketch where Pat plays a straight guy. It will be wet ‘n’ wild\, magical\, hysterical and historical. F*ck off\, Branjelina\, Bennifer\, and Bennifer Garner – there’s a new PORTMANTEAU in town. \n24 DOUBLE B (TORONTO) \n24 Double B is a Toronto based classic guy/girl sketch comedy duo that does sketch comedy and are a troupe consisting of guy and girl. Often blending the absurd with true awesome clean fun comedy this sketch duo has it all; comedy\, sibling rivalry and love. SUMMARY:MONTREAL SKETCHFEST WITH BEACON OF HOPE (MONTREAL)\, 2 SAME GUYS (BC)\, & SARAH BENNETT (TORONTO)
DESCRIPTION:BEACON OF HOPE (MONTREAL) \nTwo friends\, two words: avant-garde. \nMontrealers Marty and Nicky are award winning weirdos. Montreal Sketchfest’s Best New Comer 2024\, former members of Pickle Party\, Little Strawberry Bitch and Ricky they’ve made appearances at OFF-JFL\, Toronto Sketchfest\, Big City Improv Festival (Toronto)\, Montreal Pride Festival and the inaugural Simmer Festival with Imago Theatre where they debuted their short play Mommy i$$ue$. \n2 SAME GUYS (BC) \nMichelle Hart and Allie Entwistle have both been performing sketch comedy for over a decade. Their credits include Just For Laughs Vancouver\, The Second City\, Toronto Sketchfest\, The Portland Sketch Comedy Festival\, and MSC Cruise Lines. They’ve been performing apart for years\, afraid of how powerful they would become if they came together on stage\, but have decided to risk it all this year to perform together just for you at Montreal Sketchfest. The result? A hybrid show where they each perform their own solo character work\, before bringing their characters together for scenes that burn so bright\, you legally shouldn’t watch them for too long. The result is part solo show\, sketch collaboration\, and part live experiment in whether two actual maniacs can share a stage. \nSARAH BENNETT (TORONTO) \nSarah is a stand-up\, sketch and Improv artist who has performed across Canada. Stationed in Toronto\, Sarah has been a reaccuring performer at Just For Laughs Toronto. She has been involved in Toroto Sketch Festival as a finalist in “Sketch To Death” competition\, and as part of the group “Uncle Mother’s”\, and as a solo act. She debuted her half-hour of sketch at Second City’s “Spotlight”. As an actor\, Sarah has been featured in Amazon Prime’s “Overcompensating”.\n \n Tickets

SUMMARY:MONTREAL SKETCHFEST WITH TANDEM JUMP (MONTREAL)\, BIG OL' MESS (DENVER\, CO)\, & JON BLAIR (TORONTO)
DESCRIPTION:TANDEM JUMP (MONTREAL) \nTandem Jump are Montreal-based dirty rat people who eat garbage and dirt. They have been seen at the Just For Laughs Festival and selling out their variety show Tandem Jump and Friends at Theatre Sainte-Catherine. At Montreal Sketchfest they have received the Best Local Troupe award twice in 2023 and 2025. They hope to make you proud. \nBIG OL’ MESS (DENVER\, CO) \nBig Ol’ Mess is a sketch comedy group from Denver\, CO\, but a Big Ol’ Mess show is not your typical sketch show. Their performances range from smart to dumb\, leaving audiences cackling and enamored. Each show is carefully curated with original soundtracks and transition music — all created by the performers themselves — yet the vibe stays fun and loose\, as these veteran improvisers welcome discovery and hilarious chaos within every sketch. No two Big Ol’ Mess shows are the same\, but see one\, and you’ll be in love. \nJON BLAIR (TORONTO) \nJon Blair is an extraordinarily convincing scarecrow made of mop handles\, old clothes and crumpled up alt-weekly magazines which\, when properly jostled around\, looks very much like a man performing absurdist character-driven solo sketch comedy. It has previously won Best of Fest and Best Newcomer at Montreal Sketchfest\, toured at festivals across Canada and the US\, and somehow landed a recurring role on the CBS sitcom Ghosts. Also the mop part of the mop is its hair.\n \n Tickets

SUMMARY:MONTREAL SKETCHFEST WITH THE PERHAPS (MONTREAL)\, NKASI OGBONNAH (TORONTO)\, & POTATO POTATO (TORONTO)
DESCRIPTION:THE PERHAPS (MONTREAL) \nIn The Perhaps system\, the people are presented two separate yet equally important performers: the Maïté Sinaves\, who investigate characters; and the Alasdair Tremblay-Birchalls\, who prosecute the zingers. These are their sketches. \nNKASI OGBONNAH (TORONTO) \nNkasi is an alumna of The Second City’s Mainstage. She was a member of Toronto Fringe Festival’s “Woke ‘N Broke\,” which earned Best Ensemble from NOW Magazine. Nkasi along with her dramaturge\, Ajahnis Charley were founders of Untitled Black Sketch Project\, Canada’s first and only all-Black sketch ensemble. She has performed at notable festivals such as JFL\, Montreal Sketchfest and NXNE. Her dream is someone from the Canadian Space Agency sees the show and hires her for something… anything. Please hire me CSA. Her Instagram is @nkasiogbonnah… In case anyone from the CSA would like to contact her. \nPOTATO POTATO (TORONTO) \nPotato Potato is an award-winning Toronto Sketch Troupe that combines the talents of a diverse group of comedians to find humour in Canadian politics and climate change\, fueled by a combination of training in musical and devised theatre. \nPotato Potato’s comedy is current\, political\, and environmental\, taking the opportunity to address the harsh realities of our time and laugh in the face of it all. Part political satire\, part sketch show\, and with a generous dose of dread about our planet’s future\, Potato Potato takes the issues facing Canadians today and presents them with a comedic\, oftentimes musical\, spin. \nPotato Potato was established for the 2019 Toronto Fringe Festival\, with It’s Getting Hot in Here! (My Entertainment World Favourable Review\, Chosen for Second City’s JCB Series). In 2021 they forayed into the digital world with You Can Do It/ Put Your MASK Into It! (Parton and Pearl favourable review) and Potato Potato Presents: Potato Potato (Nominated for The Best of Fest\, TO Sketchfest 2022). They performed in Toronto Sketchfest (2023\, 2024 [best of fests showcase]\, 2025)\, Montreal Sketchfest (2024\, 2025)\, in the Second City Spotlight Series\, and as the winners of the 2024 Sketch to the Death competition. \n \n Tickets
