TIYAWNDA (TORONTO)<\/p>\n

Tiyawnda\/Tia is a Toronto based multidisciplinary artist whose focuses include playwriting, acting, creative non-fiction, music, and comedy. As a comedian she performs sketch, stand-up, improv, and musical comedy.<\/p>\n

Their plays have been produced and awarded in the Toronto Fringe Festival, shortlisted at the Yale School of Drama, and received staged readings with Obsidian Theatre and funding from the Ontario Arts Council.<\/p>\n

Tia recently finished a run on the Second City Toronto Mainstage (“All Messed Up and Nowhere to Go”, “Duel Citizens”), as well performed her first solo sketch comedy show to sold out audiences at Le Nouveau International is a non-profit organization that formed in 2009 when artists of Theatre Sainte-Catherine, Theatre 314 and various other fields came together to make art. From then on, we have performed hundreds of various shows primarily at Theatre Sainte-Catherine but also in Europe, USA and across Canada. With artists from all types of mediums and backgrounds we hope to continuously make art celebrate up and coming artists, giving them a stage, and a platform to create some memorable experiences. This collective is open to submissions and collaborations but also produces with a team of dedicated artists who love the art of good times.<\/span><\/p>\n
