Sketch and Short Films with Kate Hammer

Kate Hammer is a long-time improvisor, stand-up, and sketch comedian. She has spent the last five years honing her craft in film and television, and has made five funded and independent short films, seven funded BBC Sketches, a music video, and more. She is a BAFTA-qualifying writer and director, and her shorts have been selected for AMC+ streaming deals, and international short film festivals. Kate works in television development and the story department for series, but always puts her love of scripted comedy first.

This hands-on workshop will overview how to come up with, write, edit, and direct original sketches. We will then compare sketch and short film creation, and go over how to create your own short films for public veiwing or short film submissions. The content of the workshop will vary slightly depending on your own experience and desires of what to focus on, making this workshop catered exactly to the group.
